A "right-sized" order fulfillment packaging system, the fitPACK 500 takes on different-sized items with the ability to change package length, width, and height for each product without compromising speed.
Without lowering throughput, packages are custom-made to fit each individual product or product grouping, creating secure, tight packages to better protect the contents inside. It can run different product sizes that call for different film widths through an intelligent 3D scanner, allowing operators to feed products without having to batch products or perform manual film changeovers. A waste collection bin collects any excess width trim material.
Because many carriers assign shipping costs according to the package size, having the right-sized package helps get the right shipping rate and can lead to significant savings on shipping costs over time. Additionally, since each package is created according to product size, less packaging waste is created.
The system is powered by Tension's proprietary TensionConnect software that integrates any 3rd-party system. Its intuitive user interface reduces operator training time.
Available upgrades include an LPN printer to provide package verification and complete packaging tracking capabilities, and an option for 2-way packaging that features a perforation and adhesive strip for package returns.
