Revstone Adds Kaiser Aluminum Greenwood, SC Operations To Fold

Addition of aluminum forgings expands product offering to automotive industry

Revstone Industries LLC announced that it acquired Kaiser Aluminum's forged metals facility located in Greenwood, SC, expanding the company's portfolio.

The new acquisition will be renamed Revstone Contech Forgings and will be under the company's Cast Metals division. The addition of aluminum forging capabilities to Revstone's aluminum casting operations will continue to improve its ability to meet the auto industry's demand for light-weight parts and components for improved fuel efficiency.

"It is our strategy to seek out and develop production processes that provide high integrity, lightweight products to the transportation industry," said chairman and CEO George Hofmeister. "Aluminum forgings fit very well into that vision because they provide safety critical components with superior mechanical properties that can't be achieved through other processes."

The plant originally opened in 1990, producing aluminum forgings for a variety of applications in domestic and foreign automobiles. The 112,800 ft2 facility had an original annual capacity of 4.7 million lbs. of forgings.

"The Greenwood facility is already a solid operation," said Revstone's Cast Metals Group president David Jaeger. "Our emphasis will be to grow the business with additional product families and extended value-add operations like machining and assembly."

Revstone engineers, designs, manufactures, and markets products for the transportation and heavy truck industries, with over $1 billion in projected revenues. A leader in aluminum die casting and machining, as well as forging, stamping, and fine blanking, it operates over 50 parts manufacturing facilities throughout North America.
