Dana Wins Chinese Axle Supply Contract

Rear-axle assemblies to be supplied to Foton from Danas Fujian Spicer affiliate

Auto parts supplier Dana Holding Corp. reports it will be supplying rear-axle assembles to Beiqi Foton Motors, for installation in its 2012 model year SUVs and pick-up trucks. The value of the contract was not released.

Beiqi Foton Motors is a holding company for several Chinese manufacturers of light and heavy-duty trucks, agricultural tractors, and various other machinery.

Dana said it worked closely with Foton to offer local manufacturing and assembly options. The axle assemblies will be manufactured by Dana’s Fujian Spicer affiliate in Fuzhou, China.

Marty Bryant, president of Dana Light Vehicle Products Group, stated: "This win demonstrates Dana's growing success in generating new business in China with domestic vehicle makers such as Foton. With nearly 20 years of experience in the country, our localized sales, engineering, advanced manufacturing, and supplier support are helping us meet our customers' needs, and, at the same time, helping Dana to further expand our position in the rapidly-growing Chinese light vehicle market."
