Warren Steel “Back in Business”

New owners rehab, restart CSC operations

November 20, 2007 — A new company, Warren Steel Holdings L.L.C., has begun operating at the former CSC Ltd, (and, previously, Copperweld Steel) mini-mill sites in Warren and Champion, OH, after a year-long refurbishment effort.

The company indicates it has a capacity for 800,000 tons/year of raw steel, casting rounds ranging in diameter from 8.25 to 12.5 in. A statement adds that it plans to expand that product range as market demand indicates.

The specific facility improvements were not detailed.

CSC Ltd., the last company to occupy the facility, ceased operations in 2001. It maintain several small EAFs, a ladle furnace and two degassers, a rounds caster, blooming mill, and several bar and rod mills. It also operated several annealing furnaces and finishing lines.

Warren Steel Holdings indicates it was certified to ISO 9001/2000 quality standard in October.
