KASTO Maschinenbau GmbH has portfolio of products and services for sawing and storing bar stock, innovative designs that emphasize product and system quality, supplied with expertise and customized service.

Kasto’s product range includes metal-cutting sawing machines and semi-automatic and fully automatic storage systems for bar stock (and sheet metal), as well as automatic handling systems for metal bars, sheet metal and pre-cut parts. The sawing and storage technology specialist has applied for 160 patents, sold more than 140,000 sawing machines worldwide and installed more than 1,700 automatic storage systems.

It claims to be “one of the Europe’s oldest family-owned companies,” now completing its 171st year in business.

The group designs and builds automatic band-sawing systems for long and flat products across a range of dimensions and materials, as well as automatic circular sawing system and semi-automatic hack-sawing systems.

The group also devises a series of options for automating material storage, including gantry, stacking crane, overhead, and honeycomb configurations.  The Unitower configuration is available to store bars or extrusions as well as sheet metal, plates, pallets or boxes loaded with all different kinds of materials. It can be customized to specific applications or used as an “island solution.” Applications range from buffer storage systems in manufacturing to small to mid size storage in distribution and warehousing. The Unitower optimizes material flow in job shops as well as for series manufacturers.
