FIA Reschedules Forge Fair 2021

Dec. 9, 2020
The trade show and conference will be staged in October, … “ensuring our exhibitors and attendees the best opportunity for success…”

The Forging Industry Association postponed its Forge Fair 2021 event from May 18-20 to October 26-28, 2021. The event will be held at the TCF Center in Detroit.

Forge Fair is a biennial trade show and technical conference for forging manufacturers and their suppliers. The last staging in May 2019 drew nearly 2,000 registered attendees and 169 exhibitors.

“It has become clear that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, many of our Forge Fair exhibitor’s customers and prospective customers would not have permission to travel and attend trade shows through spring and into early summer,” explained FIA chairman Mike Gill.

The pandemic forced cancellation of a different event FIA had organized, the 23rd International Forging Congress, originally scheduled for September 19-21 in Chicago.

Gill thanked the host venue and exhibit management service for flexibility in adjusting the schedule.

“With strong progress regarding vaccine deployment for COVID-19 prevention coming in December and Q1 2021, we want to ride that momentum and put on the best Forge Fair the industry has seen this fall,” stated FIA president/CEO Jim Warren. “By moving the show from May to October, we are ensuring our exhibitors and attendees the best opportunity for success – both on the show floor and all the other activities we plan around the show – including our free conference sessions for all attendees, our keynote presentations and evening activities supported by our exhibitors.”
